Problem: While attempting to run Get-FASTSearchMetadataCrawledProperty, I received the error, "Failed to communicate with the WCF service"
Solution: Added myself to FASTSearchAdministrators group, logged out, logged back in.

This one has solved the problem for me (after opening a ticket at MS support):
Create a new group on the FAST server named “FASTSearchKeywordAdministrators”.
Add the SP (the user running the OSearch14 service) & FAST admin to it.
Perfect. This worked for me. (logoff and login solved the problem.)
